Baby & Kid Friendly Restaurants with Playgrounds in Austin, Texas

Updated: Apr 25

So you had your baby, but you're still you! And you want to go visit restaurant patios on a warm sunny day where you're not the only family with a baby, or kids who can't sit at a table for more than 5 minutes. Having been to nearly all of the best kid friendly patios in the area here's my quick recommendations:

Bouldin Acres on Braker Lane - best sports bar with a playground

-Huge TVs, drinks and food come fast, full bar, a few arcade games (my 8 year old loves this), and a playground that's completely fenced in so you don't need to worry about any kiddos wandering off.

The Campout on Burnet - best little fire pits for fall

-They have a playscape, small space for kicking a ball, and a few covered picnic tables and TVs. Food is good and they have a few little fire pits plus table side s'mores.

Homeslice Pizza North Loop - best pizza place

-Full bar, beer, wine, and yes, tasty pizzas but my personal recommendation is the Veggie Sandwich 100 times over. Quite honestly one of my favorite dishes of food in this city! Give it a whirl and let me know how you like it. Enjoy your patio time while the kids play on the turf hills and draw pictures on the giant chalkboard. We like to bring a ball and the kids will get some sort of game going with the other kids there.

Lazarus Brewing - coolest Pirate Ship

-Beer, wine, and coffee. Great menus, good tacos. Huge patio with tables and a lovely circular seating area around a fire pit. They recently put in a giant Pirate Ship for kids to play on.

Central Market North Lamar - best for sharing a bottle of wine

-Go right into the grocery store and grab a cold bottle of wine, snacks, and head to their playground. My kids have enjoyed this playground for years and still do. It's great for all ages.

Doc's Backyard Grill - a solid staple

-Bar food, full bar, great patio, and kids playground. Checks all the boxes.

Meanwhile Brewing - best brewery hang

-Expansive grounds and a beautiful kids playground/climbing area. Settle in and stay.
